 The
city of Star is a quaint town located about
twenty miles west of Boise and offers a pleasant
and somewhat rustic atmosphere where you are
close to many of the recreational opportunities
that Idaho has to offer. Last time I looked Star
had a population of a little over 5,500
residents.
Star is where I
live with my family. We moved to Idaho in 2004,
and rented for about a year until we could
decide where we wanted live on a more permanent
basis. We chose Star, because there is a great
community of custom homes built up in the
Northern foothills where we purchased an acre
lot with magnificent views of the entire valley.
We built our dream home and love it here. The
really nice thing about Hillsdale Estates is
that we have an acre of land between our next
door neighbors, but the real benefit is that
there are 10 to 20 acres behind and between any
of your neighbors. The majority of that space is
still active farm land. We also have a community
fishing pond, equestrian center
Another nice
thing about Star is that it offers a lifestyle
that is still within reach for the average
person with many new neighborhoods with
affordable housing. Like the rest of the
Treasure Valley we also enjoy a four seasons
climate (something we never had in California)
and an extremely low crime rate. Because of
this, and several other beneficial factors many
have found Star to be one of the top communities
of choice to raise their children. You will
often see local children walking down to the
river with a fishing pole in hand to enjoy hours
of fun.
Star is also
home to the Mule Days fair which is hosted each
year in June which has several fun activities
and events over the weekend, as well as a fun
parade that everyone enjoys. In addition to Mule
days there are several other activities and
events for families hosted by the Star Chamber
of Commerce. During the Christmas holiday season
the Star Lions Club decorates the city with
lights and the residents gather to enjoy a good
old-fashioned tree lighting at the City Hall.
